Bill and I knew that Erin and Matt were going to be very special additions to the St. Louis community even before they arrived. Our friend Paul Jones at Tenth Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia had told us about them so we were on the look out! We were thrilled when they finally came and even more so when they began coming to our church small group. Paul was right, of course—we have come to love them very much and feel like they are a part of our family as well as friends.
Erin has been so fun to get to know. She always has a fresh way of looking at things and makes me laugh. Of course her voice is lovely, but it is more than that. She also sings with her eyes, with her heart, from her soul . . . and that is why when she sings in the worship service my own heart is moved to adore the Savior more deeply.
We are excited to share this milestone birthday with her! May this new decade—one I highly recommend, by the way—bring with it wonderful new opportunities, adventures, and blessings.
